foodpanda commissioned Carbon to create a 10-second animated film featuring its much-loved mascot, Pau-Pau, for one of Taiwan’s most iconic landmarks: Taipei 101.
The challenge was to make a very short piece of content feel big enough for one of the world’s most recognisable digital façades, while capturing Pau-Pau’s playful personality and connecting with audiences from a spectacular scale.
Designed specifically for the building’s giant-format display, the animation sees Pau-Pau interact directly with the audience as he playfully makes his way up the side of Taipei 101. We used exaggerated movement, expressive character animation and a strong sense of scale to turn the building itself into part of the story.
The result is a simple, highly engaging piece of digital out-of-home content that transforms a global landmark into a playful stage for foodpanda’s brand character, demonstrating how smart creative thinking can make even a 10-second animation impossible to ignore.
