Creative Bonding: UV Unwrapping for 3D Models

24 November, 2022

Creative Bonding Sessions give our designers time to practice skills that help them create great work. In this exercise, they tried their hand at UV unwrapping, which involves creating a flat representation of a 3D model’s surface to map out its texture. The designers first created a 3D character through sculpting, modelling or with a 3D asset. Then, they applied the UV unwrapping technique to texture their character. We always love seeing where their imaginations take them. Here’s a look at a few of their works.

Carbon holds regular Creative Bonding sessions for our Creative Team to have a mental reset, learn new skills, and learn from one another. Check out our designers’ take on a classic Still Life here.
